Mission for Ministry of Service: To inspire people to step into Service by providing opportunities for them to experience spiritual growth, a deeper sense of purpose, and a greater sense of community in support of the many church programs and activities.
 
Service is a spiritual practice because it is a powerful source of awareness and love. Metaphysics and spiritual law tell us that it is impossible to give to someone if you have nothing to give. We see these examples every day:

- the tired mother who cooks dinner for her husband at the end of the day
- the worried employee who has just lost his job yet gives his time to help at a homeless shelter
- the busy executive who takes time to go to her son's basketball game
- the entrepreneur who is worried about his business failing, but decides to sponsor a food bank drive
 
Therefore, by engaging in the act of serving others, you can experience the Source within you. Service gives you the opportunity to gain more energy, more abundance, more time - but that is not only why we do it. We do it because it is who we are: The full healing, generous, loving presence of the Divine acting through us on this planet. You are talented, loving, and a student of the Divine Life of God. You have Much to share, and taking advantage of these opportunities to be of service can be satisfying ways to feel valuable and invest in ourselves and our world.
 
Take that which fills your hands: The people and activities and communities, and see beneath the surface to the Divine opportunities that they are. Give in service to them. As St. Francis reminds us, "it is in the giving, that we receive". In this way, your willingness and your loving service will transform ordinary people and events into the sacraments of your life. You may even transform yourself in the process!
